Inner Journey Psychological Services and Dr. Otto’s approach

The aim of Inner Journey Psychological Services is to create an atmosphere that is conducive to growth, healing, and wellness.  Comprehensive mental health services are offered.  A cognitive interpersonal approach is provided, which means that treatment focuses on relationship dynamics and how the person thinks about a situation.  Since thoughts are related to feelings and subsequent behavior, this at times is a focus of therapy.  A here-and-now focus is used to help individuals explore things from the past and their current situations, in the hopes of improving functioning and relationships.

I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of South Dakota and an American Psychological Association (APA)-approved internship at Denver Health Medical Center.  Prior to moving to Arizona, I worked in Sioux Falls, SD; Sioux City, Iowa; Denver and Colorado Springs, CO.  My training was comprehensive in working with children, adolescents, and adults, and I have special training in cultural and diversity issues.  I became licensed in Arizona as a psychologist about six years ago.

Dr. Otto strives to meet the needs and objectives of the individual or family.  While maintaining an exploratory nature, it is tailored to be pragmatic and solution-focused.
